Nuwara Eliya and Badulla

When you are planning a trip to Hill Country of Sri Lanka do not forget to visit Nuwara Eliya,Badulla and Bandarawela cities. All cities are located in Central Province and Uva Province and can be visited all attractive places in one tour.

Following are some places attracted by visitors.In Nuwara Eliya; Nuwaraeliya has a cool climate since it is
located 6128ft(1868kms) above the sea level and most attractive season of the year is from 15th to 30th April, all
gardens are with flowers. Hakgala Botanical Garden is one of attractions and located Nuwara Eliya Badulla main road, 16kms away from Nuwara Eliya City. It is the second largest Botanical Garden of five Botanical Gardens in Sri Lanka. There are more than 10000 species of flora available in the garden. Most beautiful Period starts from mid to end of April .

Nuwara Eliya Flower Garden managed by M C is another attraction located in the city. The Garden is amazingly bloom
during the Spring season. Gregary Lake ; is situated at centre of Nuwara Eliya ,and constructed during the period of British Governer Sir Gregory in 1873. Boating (pedal and speed) is available for your fun. Horton Plains and World’s End Horton Plains is 6900 ft(2100metres) above the sea level and is very rich in Biodiversity. Also the plants in the area are endemic to Horton Plains. It is located 32kms from Nuwara Eliya and 6kms from Ohiya.

There are birds in the plains and some species therein are only could be seen in Horton Plains. Also You can see herds of samba deer in the area. When you are walking you can see the Biodiversity of the land with mist or clouds. World’s End is on your walking way .

If you peep down from World’ End you will see Tea plantations of Balangoda area of Sabaragamuwa Province. If the sky is free of mist , you will have a marvellous view of clouds. Now you are walking towards Baker’s Falls. It is a
famous water fall located within the Horton Plains. There are butterflies and birds on your way back to exit.
Route Information,

Badulla; When you go to Badulla you will see Muthiyangana RajaMaha Vihara (Monestry). Dunhinda Water Falls is major attraction of tourists situated in Badulla Mahiyangana road (5 kms from Badulla). From the main road you have to walk more than 1 km along a foot path. Height of Water Fall is 210ft(64metres) Amazingly spreads out as a smoke of water and beuty of the fall enhances during the rainy season.

Bandarawela is also a tourist attractive destination situated next to Badulla.You can admire the beauty of mountains in eastern area of Sri Lanka There are good hotels for tourists in the area.
