The most famous place for whales and dolphins watching in Sri Lanka is Mirissa in Galle. A boat can be hired from Mirissa harbour for full day/halfday . Watching Season is from November to April in each year. In addition to that other water sports such as surfing, diving, etc is also available in Mirissa.
Also Kalpitiya is known as a destination for dolphins watching.
Pasikuda(in Tamil Pasikkudah) is a town located along the beach in eastern coast of Sri Lanka. It is 56kms from Polonnaruwa and 35kms from Batticaloa.

Kumana National Park is the most famous place for bird watching. Located in southeastern coast of Sri Lanka. Earlier Kumana was a part of Yala National Park and now it is separate National Park.
Kumbukkan Oya is the main water resource in the park. All tanks and lagoons are filled with Kumbukkan Oya water. Migrant birds and local birds are in the form of big flocks in lagoons in the early morning or evening.
Therefore the best time for bird watching is early morning or evening.Open bill, ibis, purple heron, Painted Storks, Grey heron are some varities among other birds.

Ussangoda is located in between Ambalantota and Nonagama on the Colombo -Katharagama Road. It is a nature reserve bordering the southern beach of Sri Lanka.

Sri Dalada Maligawa or Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha is one of the most sacred places to Buddhists . It is now identified as a world heritage site.
Kandian architectural designs gives marvellous appearance in side the Temple. Moonstone( Sandakada Pahana) and Makara Thorana are some of stone carvings and there are number of wood carvings which could not be seen in any temple.Other buildings in the Temple premises are Royal Palace (King’s), Magul Maduwa , Maha Maluwa and Museum.
Trincomalee is situated in eastern coast of Sri Lanka and famous for natural harbour more important in the Asian region. Earlier it was known as Thirukonamalai(In Tamil)and Thrikunamalaya (In Sinhala) .

If you peep down from World’ End you will see Tea plantations of Balangoda area of Sabaragamuwa Province. If the sky is free of mist , you will have a marvellous view of clouds. Now you are walking towards Baker’s Falls. It is a
famous water fall located within the Horton Plains. There are butterflies and birds on your way back to exit.
Badulla; When you go to Badulla you will see Muthiyangana RajaMaha Vihara (Monestry). Dunhinda Water Falls is major attraction of tourists situated in Badulla Mahiyangana road (5 kms from Badulla). From the main road you have to walk more than 1 km along a foot path. Height of Water Fall is 210ft(64metres) Amazingly spreads out as a smoke of water and beuty of the fall enhances during the rainy season.
